Easy Silken Tofu With Soy Dressing • Hip Foodie Mom

Easy Silken Tofu With Soy Dressing! The easiest no-cook tofu dish ever! Dressed with a spicy soy sauce dressing, this dish can truly be a complete meal with a bowl of hot rice. Hope you try it!

I absolutely love tofu, all kinds. I have a lot of recipes using firm tofu but today, I want to show you a super easy recipe using silken tofu. Silken tofu is “made in a similar process to block tofu, except that the soy milk is coagulated without curdling the milk. It’s also left unpressed, so every cake retains all of its moisture while cooling. Because curds never form, the tofu—be it soft, firm, or extra firm—has a smooth and “silky” appearance. More delicate than block tofu, silken tofus likewise require delicate handling, lest they fall apart.” Click here to read about all the different types of tofu, as well as recipes from Serious Eats.

Silken tofu is very delicate and requires careful handling if you want to keep the tofu in tact. Some recipes cube or slice it up but I think it’s beautiful left uncut. You don’t cook it or heat it up, although if you want it warmed up you can leave it out until it’s room temperature or place it into the microwave. I like mine cold and served with hot rice.
