The Society for Scholarly Publishing’s (SSP) Annual Meeting is one of the major events of the research and publishing industry and serves as a platform for various stakeholders to discuss some of the most pressing issues and also get a chance to present new services and solutions that answer to all the challenges of publishing in the current landscape.
At the 2022 annual meeting, ScienceOpen was invited to present the BookMetaHub, our platform that works as a solution for all book publishers who want to freely access, maintain, or create rich metadata sets for their scientific book publications on a book- and chapter-level. And, as the SSP prepares for this year’s meeting, we at ScienceOpen have dedicated a research collection to all of the posters from the previous meeting, as well as other SSP-related content.
Introducing the SSP Poster Collection
The SSP community brings together academics, funders, librarians, publishers, service providers, technologists, and countless others with a communal interest and stake in the dissemination of scholarly information.
The poster collection on ScienceOpen will serve as a unique platform where ideas, solutions and presentations come together in digital form, embedded in a vast network of 83 million scholarly publications and over 600.000 conference proceedings articles.
ScienceOpen promotes conference output in its network and beyond, with smart search and filtering tools and interactive features for the research community.
The SSP Posters will now be contextualized within a broad digital research environment in the form of a branded collection, which attractively promotes the work of SSP, allowing for content categorization by different meeting sessions, additional promotion through our promotional banners, and other benefits from our wide range of dissemination tools and community curation. We invite all authors to claim their publication in the collection—they can easily be added to the author’s list of publications via a simple ORCID synchronization—or enhance the metadata further to make sure the record representation is as rich as can be!
The SSP Annual Meeting is an important source of information and networking for our industry, and we are pleased to expand the ways we can create discussions among our community. Posters are a natural medium for content that may not be right for an educational session, whether due to narrow focus or competition for space. They can also be a great option for presenters who are interested in direct feedback on a project in progress. Posters are a way for us to support those who are newer to the industry and aren’t quite ready to take the stage in front of a large audience.
Explore the SSP Collection and don’t forget to follow and stay updated with SSP.
The SSP Annual meeting will take place in Portland from May 31 to June 2. Registration will open in mid February. For more details, you can visit the official website by clicking here.
